The One Note Man

The One Note Man

A lonely bassoonist lives his life meticulously, mired in routine. Each day, he plays a single note in an orchestra and leaves the stage while the rest continue. One day, his exit is accidentally delayed and he hears a breathtaking violin solo, which changes his life forever. A Christmas love story.

George Sioukas – I was born in Athens Greece and studied at the London Film School (LFS) where I made 5 short films which competed in more than 30 international short film festivals. Between them they won 7 Best Film and 4 Best Director awards. Two of these shorts have since gone on to be used as examples of “High Quality and Vision” in the LFS curriculum.

Burning Heads (Greek title “To Gala”), my debut feature, was released in Greece in 2012 (Odeon). It was nominated for 11 awards by the Hellenic Film Academy including Best Director, and went on to win Best Male Actor and Best Female Actor awards at the Alexandria Film Festival (2012) as well as Best Actor and Best Film at the London Greek Film Festival (2012).

In 2023 I wrote and directed THE ONE NOTE MAN, a short film starring BAFTA winner Jason Watkins with the voice of Ian McKellen and music by Oscar winning composer Stephen Warbeck. The film is Oscar® shortlisted in the Best Live Action Short Film category, it is BAFTA qualified and has won 23 awards so far.

I am currently developing THE ONE NOTE MAN feature film and I’m attached to direct CONCERTO a UK-based rom-com.
