Ville Tanttu (b. 1967) is a filmmaker and artist from Helsinki. He writes, directs and films films and plays the guitar. In the field of photographic art, Tanttu has spent the last years in the Refracted Light Empire project. The style and expression of the project’s different photo series are inspired by the history of visual arts, mainly the Renaissance and Expressionism. With these works, Tanttu can express his inner image through the means of photography. Using old copper plates as mirrors allowed him to observe and study reality as if through a Renaissance lens. It offered a window through time.
