Congratulations to the winners of the 9th edition of Bucharest Short Film Festival!
Thank you to all the filmmakers who graced us with their extraordinary stories and our wonderful audience for their support. It was a memorable edition, full of emotion, talent and creativity!
Christos Stergioglou, President of the BSFF Jury, our dear friend and strong supporter of the festival, will be present at the 9th edition. He honors us with his presence, as he does every year, adding to the festival’s atmosphere.
George Siougas, director of the film THE ONE NOTE MAN, will be present at the 9th edition of BSFF. The film will be screened in the first day, Wednesday 6th, followed by a Q&A with George Siougas.
Tom wants to throw a surprise party for his best friend Anna, since he’s a bit in love with her. Unfortunately, the bar has messed up his reservation – and the only room available at short notice is the phone booth in the backyard. Tom tries everything to throw the „best party of the year” anyway. But the cell is too small, the bar’s rules are too absurd and Anna is far too difficult to impress. Tom realizes: The right mindset doesn’t help at all! A film about great ambitions in confined spaces.
Tibo Pinsard, director of the film GORILLA – winner of 3 awards in our 2016 edition, is joining the BSFF Jury. He will be present in Bucharest, at the 9th edition of festival.
The film GORILLA will be screened on Sunday (10th), at the end of the international competition, followed by a Q&A with Tibo Pinsard.
Bio
After studying at Dijon Fine Arts School, Tibo Pinsard became a journalist for a few years whilst directing his first short films.
Tibo’s short GORILLA has been multi-awarded throughout the world (46 awards for 121 selections) and was in the long-list for Best Short Film of the Academy Awards 2017.
Since then, Tibo has co-written and directed in Australia PET KILLER, a dark comedy mini-series for Blackpills, coproduced by Deadrock/Deadhouse (Australia) and Rockzeline (France).Tibo is currently developing several series and feature films, as well as documentaries. One of these projects is a documentary on Iggy Pop and the Stooges.
Emmanuel Tenenbaum, director of the film FREE FALL – awarded with “Best Director” in the our 2022 edition, is joining the BSFF Jury. He will be present in Bucharest, at the 9th edition of the festival.
The film FREE FALL will be screened on Friday (8th), after the narrative program, followed by a Q&A with Emmanuel Tenenbaum.
Bio
Emmanuel Tenenbaum is a French director living in the Netherlands. A former biomedical engineer at Philips, he has been working for years with Quebec screenwriter Guillaume Fournier. Together, they were able to create realistic and strong short films about multinationals. Their films have received more than 100 awards (Grand Prize at REGARD, Sapporo, Qualifed for the Oscars 2021) in 300 festivals (Hollyshorts, Show me Shorts), as well as nominated for Vimeo Best of the year.

At her nonfigurative painting’s opening gallery, the presence of the artist observes the audience’s reactions regarding her work. Despite being of varying ages, backgrounds, and social status, the common denominator is the unproductive discourse between them, which starts being more about defending one’s egos rather than talking about art. Gathering from these discussions, the painter isstruck byinspiration to start a new painting.
