Khozy Rizal – Born in 1995 in Makassar, Rizal studied film in Jakarta and made his debut with Makassar Is a City for Football Fans (2021), which won a Special Jury Prize at the Indonesian Film Festival. His follow-up Ride to Nowhere (2022) claimed the national award at the Makassar Writers’ Festival. Basri & Salma … became the first Indonesian short competing for Cannes’ Palme d’Or and swept several international festivals. He recently released Little Rebels Cinema Club, winner of the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film at Berlinale 2024, and is developing his feature debut I Wanna Dance with Myself.
