Palm Springs Short Film Festival 2021

Director – Sarina Nihei

Sarina Nihei is an award winning animation director and illustrator living in Tokyo. Being obsessed with Estonian animation while she was studying graphic design at Tama Art University in Tokyo, she decided to pursue animation.
Having moved to London to start a Master’s degree at the Royal College of Art, she met strange(and talented) classmates, which ultimately led her to make ‘Small People with Hats’ that is often seen as a weird film. Luckily, the film won several awards including the Grand Prize at the OIAF in 2015 and British Animation Awards 2016, and has been screened at festivals all over the world.
